Just came back from church after seeing the youths off to camp, not just la . . .about 2 and half hours ago to be exact and received word that they have reached the destination safe and sound. . . thank God for journey mercy. To those at the camp, may your hunger for God never cease and that this hunger multiply as you mature and feed this hunger to the lost.
I was asked by blog owner if I could write something in his absence and as usual did not dare promise as I am a person of few words. So here I am making a grreaaaat effort. . .what can I write/share?. . . I was thinking through the happenings in my quiet life these few days and maybe will try share a little testimony. A testimony of how good our God is. Read the rest of this entry »
Now they come up with a BIBLE Tag???? What will be next? I am just dumbfounded….
1) How many books have you read in the Old Testament?
All I need to (Ask Bible School)
2) How many books have you read in the New Testament?
All I need to (Ask Bible School)
3) The book(s) in the Bible which I like to read the most
Job, Romans
4) Who is my favourite male character(s) in the Bible and why? (other than Jesus)
Barnabas, because I’ll never be like him thought I long to be the great ‘encourager’
5) Who is my favourite female character(s) in the Bible and why?
Mary, I want a wife like that
6) My favourite Bible verse(s) is/are…
So many la how to put all. The WHOLE bible perhaps?
Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
and so many more!!!
7) How many versions of Bible do you have?
Digitally, I have every version in existance. I have to add that my favorite version is the NRSV and mostly I memorized my memory verses in NIV. Don’t ask why…you’ll regret it
I’m not going to tag anyone though it will be very very very interesting to know how many of you will actually be able to fill this up and not feel ashamed…..I was shocked that these basic questions are actually very difficult to answer for many people including myself…..I am actually ashamed of my level of bible knowledge. Would any of you feel ashamed with the truthful answers you have to put in? I think I’m going to read my bible more. Afraid that if God asks me these questions will I be able to stand tall and proud…..or fall flat with my face to the ground trembling…. OK OK better go read….feel convicted already….Next version TNIV….a present from my BCM brothers.

My favorite superhero of all time in the comic sense is Daredevil. The tag line, ‘the man with no fear’. OH My hero…..
MIke Leo will say I fear no one when it comes to speaking my mind. Others will testify to my stupid bold acts of bravery but one thing I can never overcome. Make me eat ‘Balut’ or even spiders or crickets I could survive….though I haven’t done that. I have eaten stuff like monitor lizards, squirrels, snakes, porcupine and more and it is no issue to me.
But it was a cold cold December night somewhere about 10 or more years ago. There I (the victim) lay under the cover of my sleeping bag. Beside me was a friend named Adino (the accused) and we were resting awaiting the next day of camp to approach when suddenly....

I heard some ladies screeching trying to sing this song….poor thing…now you don’t have to scream anymore!!!
But I had to lend my keyboard out so this was done in a rush without the right equipment thus being a little let nice sounding but my friends said most can’t tell. So here it is!!
beauty-minus-one-female
Have fun singing it!!

David Abbott who played a huge part in helping me realised my calling
One of my favorite album is Yanni - Tribute…. but no this is no recommendation nor music critique. This is just a little tribute I would like to shout out to groups of people that gave up the comfort of having a holiday, bear with my singing and a long lecture and travelled from a galaxy far far away…..errr ok too much exaggeration.

In the midst of Heroes
These are the Sunday school and Children Church teachers that came to my church on wesak day to get training to be better teachers to the ‘young ones’.
When I gave all the troubles to these people back in my glorious days, they were the ones who were there to make sure I got to hear the truth despite the pain in the neck I was.
If I may say, thanks to them, I am who I am today. Their passion to try their best and invest their lives into ours had made a whole lot of difference and I tip my hat to them with a humongous big THANK YOU.
I was honored to have been able to help by just leading the worship but what they do will live on in the lives of hundreds maybe thousands.
My prayer is that as they believe in the lives of the ‘little ones’, God will use them to change many lives which would be lost wihout them.
Once again, Thank You!

‘Cow jumps over the mountain’
It is the final day and I cannot wait to get home. It is apparent that I’m starting to worry if I have to stay away from Malaysia longer than this. I woke up rather late because I couldn’t sleep last night. Probably because I was really thinking a lot of whether going home is a good thing or not. I couldn’t come out with a solid decision and therefore toiled around in bed until 3 am. I got so weary but still couldn’t really get myself to rest. So I popped two panadols in and it worked magic.
I got my bags all ready and everything, only to be caught by surprised that we were not going anywhere. Read the rest of this entry »

My following of American Idol has come to a close. Sadly my favorite didn’t take the title. It don’t matter to me. I’m just so blue and emotionless. Maybe not emotionless but just filled up with an absolute sense of remorse.
I feel like I have lost my purpose in life. I have been hanging around waiting for things to happen and nothing seems to come my way. I just keep failing over and over again.
Watching them live their dreams, it got me all burning inside because I too want to sing on a stage. I too want someone to recognize my talent. I too want to just be given the opportunity to sing for God. Yet, these things evade me because……….. Read the rest of this entry »

This was some of my medicine - you squeeze it and the suck the juice…interesting way to eat an orange….and it is green in color but sweet!!
I will compress these two days into one because I practically just spent most of my time bedridden. I was really out of it because the whole night through I had difficulty breathing, a sore throat, coughing my lungs out. I didn’t want to wake the others up so I pushed through the pain. Sothy arrived early in the morning as he was going to take me on a tour but I couldn’t get up. I told him I needed medication. He immediately wrote them down and rushed off to buy it for me. They couldn’t find what I needed but some anti-histamine helped. I was aching to the bone and so they left me to rest.
I was a living factory of green mucus and phlegm. Read the rest of this entry »
This is one of the sermon I shared in Cambodia. You’ll be surprised to know that I actually changed it a lot on the actual day. But here is what I typed down as requested by some of my readers. I hope you’ll enjoy it! Read the rest of this entry »

I could hardly get up feeling my whole body aching and my throat giving me a hard time to even swallow. Still I had an important duty and priviledge today and I had to make sure I was on time. Today I was to preach at Lighthouse Assembly. The church that Sothy is the senior pastor of. It was apparently customary that the couple not attend church after their ceremony because they still had to clean up. Yet Sothy made it a point to say that he would come as it was the right thing to do.
I was there earlier that most people. So I setup my notebook and tested it out. The song sounds fine and I’m going to try to sing it despite feeling like throwing out all morning. Read the rest of this entry »

There are some artists that you like hearing. There are others that you absolutely adore. This is one band I ADORE. Their lyrics are the most artistic things I know. Even more, their melodic lines are superb. I got hook on this album since the day it came out. I am still hearing it and having it in my hand phone.
This album came out in 2000 and that is very very long ago hahaha. But imagine that I have never got bored with it for 8 years. How loud does that speak of how good this album? Loads!!!
They are more of a folk pop music group. That provides for their very personal lyrics. Caedmon’s Call has lost a vital member since that time but I’m still a huge fan. This album got it started. I was mesmerized by the lyrics of the song ‘Prove me Wrong’. It is so deeeeeeepppp.
‘What you want’ got me hooked on like magic…..
So if you ask me, get this album, it is musically challenging, arranged magnificently, and just wonderful. You may not get hooked on the first time (although I did get hooked instantly) but listen closely and you will indeed get lost into the magic of this group of artist. Their latest albums are still magnificent.
This album has my recommendation for satisfaction guaranteed album.

I was supposed to be following both Sothy and Ratthana as they went to the lake gardens to take pictures. Sothy sensing my tiredness asked me to go get some rest first before the evening dinner. So I did return to the church only for a blackout to happen 5 minutes after I arrived. It was too hot to sleep but I tried. But before I could even fall asleep it was time to go and prepare for the dinner ceremony. I had to be there at four so I was busily preparing myself at 3 and off I went as one of the other best man fetched me.
Reaching there I thought if I was dressed in something rather formal it would have been fine but to their dismay I was supposed to wear what I had been wearing the whole day that was full with sweat! On the journey back to church, we also went into some mud so my pants were stained. So here I was dressed in a blue chequered shirt and brown pants when they wanted me to be in a suit again! Ratthana’s House Clock
We got up at the time we were supposed to but I struggled to do it. So I got prepared and here we are off on Sothy’s bike. Now you can see for the first time our means of transportation. This has been how I have been travelling so far in Cambodia. Upon arriving, the place was a sight to behold. The tent, the gifts, the people. So exciting. I’m going to describe the ceremony to you through my eyes. If I may say, I hardly understood anything because it was all in Khmer the local language. Read the rest of this entry »

Since I was a little boy, this badminton competition is really something that drives me. I remember as a kid as I watched Rashid Sidek, Foo Kok Keong, Cheah Soon Kit- Soo Beng Kiang and the rest lift the cup up in victory! Oh what a moment.
Since that day, I must say I haven’t really had much hope for seeing Malaysia repeat its feat until now….. Read the rest of this entry »

This is a view of the bride’s house on a swamp area
I woke up knowing Sothy was going to leave early and gave him a hug as I promised. Haha. Nothing bad as some of you have in mind. Aiyoyoyoyo. Then I continued my deep slumber until 9 am. In any event I think I really am some sort of bad luck charm as there was a blackout again when I woke up. Sigh so I decided to sleep since it was hot and I could do nothing much.
