Amen to that last statement sister Nancy.

Most of the time we are very absent minded people who also succumb to complacency and need testimonies like these to jolt us (this one definitely gave me a good hard shake). True that some of us are moved or emotionally/spiritually charged when we hear of testimonies like these or at camps or even at certain Christian conferences, which is very normal. They like reminders that there are lots of lost souls out there and to some of us even unsaved loved ones.
What I am try to express is that we have to be alert at all times (which is so difficult, of which i am guilty of) amidst our daily life's battles. I for one definitely need to be reminded. And I do hope that this post helps in keeping us on our toes, ready at all times to be used in any circumstance according to His plans.

I wasn't in service on sunday, as I was in k4, but I heard a little on the sharing mde, and thanks for writing the post, so as to enable me to know more about what the pastor shared. I was deeply moved too and believe we do need to help others. And seriously take action, not just by praying.

Yes, I was moved to tears many times and each time feeling and thinking, "yes, they need the Lord, they need to know they are loved, they have hope amidst all the suffering".
Like Siew Lee mentioned, knowing and having God beside us makes a lot of difference when we go through unexplainable painful experiences.

We can start by telling God 'we are willing' and commit our lives in total surrender to His will and plans.

Aunty nancy, thanks very much for sharing this post. It speaks so abundantly and touches so deeply. I was very moved after reading it.

2 days ago, my friend and i were having a conversation about a video of children and people from different parts of the world who were suffering, and he asked me, how would these people who are suffering so much ever believe that there is such a thing as a loving God? and why would a loving God allow these things to happen? I told him i don't have the best answers to that but i answered the best i could. 2 days after he came up to me and asked me, why am i so optimistic in my faith while he is so pessimistic?

Truth is, i am not a very optimistic person. But what i do realise especially after reading this is that, the difference between us and those people described is, if we were to be put through difficult situations and trying moments of suffering, we have a God to turn to, to rely on, to comfort and to give us hope.

I feel a burden for those people. They have the biggest lacking in their lives-God. We need to help them know that they need God and God loves them. Lord use me too in whatever ways i can, i am willing.

sorry to type so much.

Type more if you want. There is no limit to that(in a sense). I think a lot of people feels the burden, but would never give more than money. What this people need is not just money. They need us to take action. With our lives, to make a change. We cannot by our power in any way change the circumtances or take away their scars but we are to take action and do something.

A majority of people just give money and sit back and think that will help. If it was so God should have just gave us money. If so Jesus should have been a gazzilllionare just walking down the street giving money. Instead He gave what was more precious. We have that gift, are we going to give it?

I have just recently been tasked to go Sri Lanka next year, I'm looking forward to it. I pray I can do something. For too long people don't want to get their hands dirty. They do not want to help because they know that something in them has to change in order to help others. They are too comfortable to give up and change.

When I read this, my prayer is that people stop waiting because every second, there is a soul that will be gone for eternity. Lord use me! I don't want to see any perish too. Please Lord Use Me!
