To some, first impression is very important, thus the first smile, and smiles are contagious and inviting too... i believe that everyone has a beautiful smile. So that's the cosmetic reason. For some, functions are very important, no teeth means no food...not really actually. With the advancement of science and technology, we can still enjoy food with 'false' (dentures, implants, crowns, bridges, etc) teeth but not as much as having original teeth... because believe it or not, food does taste better with 'real'/original teeth. leon, smile, your eyes may appear smaller but you do have a beautiful smile.
