Song Writing III

wedding-flower-small.jpg

I’m sick!!! Sob Sob, down with a sore throat and flu but yet I decided that its time to let you hear what the song sounds like.

My nose was running, throat was aching when I did this. I hope you all don’t laugh at my voice. This may not be a very good first impression HAHAHA.

This is just a draft as there maybe somethings you guys can point out so I can make this better. Also I did this with my notebook microphone so please bear with the sound quality. I don’t have all my stuff back here yet.

Presenting to you LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

as requested, i’m leaving the comments HERE.
it is a very nice composition with beautifully written lyrics. impressive.

haha, sorry but i can hear you sniffing at some point coz u have a blocked nose? and there’s a very small pause somewhere, but wont be noticeable i guess.

but i dont hear you singing it with feelings… it’s like you’re singing the words, but did not put in feelings along with the lyrics.. haha.. well i dont know, maybe you did.

the melody’s really nice, your voice was a bit shaky but i believe it’s due to ur blocked nose… i know you can sing better than that.

    overall a good piece =)

I cannot sing la, don’t comment on the voice la hehe I also know not up to standard. So sick my throat like needles poking each time I swallow. Feelings ah, yeah I guess if I memorize it then it would work out better. Wait until the full things is done with the full arrangements ok?

  3. edryanne aka wai chi says:

    suara kamu ke??? really…?haha..
    like different..=P

  4. nancy says:

i am always captivated by the melody of any song i hear for the first time, its amazing how your lyrics come alive even more with the melody put it.

you can sing better than this , i agree with siew lee, you are just not well. ‘not up to standard’? come on, that’s not like you. heheehe

clap, clap, clap . . .cant wait to hear the final piece.

. . .your friend is so blessed to have you as a friend. . .

  5. Mike Leo says:

Woit! Leon!! Why ALL OF YOUR SONGS are written in a gloomy mood? Try writing upbeat songs, songs of celebration, songs of hope, songs of joy!

  6. WhiRL says:

cannot la, it is not gloomy ok…the thing is the fast song will not be suitable for the wedding la in their culture maybe. Leave it la. At least slow I know will work. Not ALL MY SONGS are gloomy la mike you just never hear only. But my good friend says I’m like professional in writing sad songs if I want to hahahahaha

Aiyo so many comments on my bad voice….Wai Chi. That disgusting meh. Or you never heard before. That is my voice la. If not who is that? Mike? Haha

Nancy, you mean to say that you are captivated by any song for the first time? You got to teach me how. Not every song captivates me.Only the good ones haha.

And to all, I’m SICK laaaa….hehe forgive my sickly voice haha. Now I feel like it was a silly thing to do it when I’m sick

  7. siewlee says:

doesn’t sound gloomy to me.. haha.. the lyrics have a very positive meanings within.. it’s a song of celebration… the celebratin of love which unites 2 people together.. and i feel that the song speaks joy and hope.. haha.. in each other and in the Lord. Well that’s what i feel when i heard it…

  8. Mei Yen says:

hi….its really captivating…the lyrics as well as the melody…put it this way….Even yr voice doesn’t sound its best..(ehem) coz yr sick but the song still sounds really good….How nice if that song was sung at my wedding haha…..juz pulling yr leg ya….

  9. nancy says:

wei leon, mistake la, i have to be more careful heehe. what i meant was if i am drawn to any song, its always the melody that captivates me first.

anyway when it comes to music especially there is nothing i can teach you right??

… continue writing and singing … not every piece may be a best seller but every single piece can be an inspiration in some way …

    ^^
    Nice song .
but quite weird at the part of [ God made this happen ] the tune lah . not the lyric .
    really very nice song .
erm , why like got rain sound de ? maybe is the sound quality gua ho ?
    keep it up o !

  11. WhiRL says:

Pauline you are right. I have edited it and will do so. I was sent by a friend the suggested amendment to the notes and I think it works great! Hear it later ya…Rain? Its called white noise. This happens when there is too much gain. What to do, using a cheap microphone ma. But my mucus was raining down hahahah.

Nancy, you know what? We all can always learn from each other. Well I do hope that I will get a best seller so that copyrighting my work will be easier and less costly. Haha.

  12. wen cheang says:

^^ clap clap clap……..haha, dowan to touch on the sound quality and you being sick, but can imagine you playing it and singing it without the mucus and sore throat……..in this recording you sound like erm erm erm forgot the singers name…..

And now time for the compliments:

Nice work in writing! hehe and lyrics too was neat and tidy…..hehe
hope to see more productions coming up….. and be sure to write a song for me on my wedding yea……… which is still not certain.

  13. WhiRL says:

waa another that I have to sing at their wedding. I’m officially the wedding singer is it? hahahahah

Who do I sound like? Me of course!! heheheh

  14. kim says:

hey… i’m no expert, but it sounds good… and catchy too! will bless all who hears it… =)

think your voice sounds good recorded, just like donny’s… unlike mine (which i think sounds kinda wierd), lolz! maybe cos u guys sing more, haha!

could hear you sniffle on the track, but overall it was good… the raspy-ness (i can’t find the word for this, lolz!) of your voice could be translated to “sexy” to some?? lolz!!!

keep it up, man… good job! =D wish i could write songs like this, hehehe… well, wishful thinking anyways, hehe! take care!

  15. Donna Lee says:

well… i don’t want to judge your voice. that’s not the important part. i love this song… no need reason.
it just prompt into my mind… love it so much!!

  16. WhiRL says:

Thank You for your kind comments Kim and Donna

  17. Kessey says:

I happened to hear your song when Sothy came to my office to pick his fiance and he used my laptop to check out your blog and I love this song. I love the lyric, I love the melody. I believe you can sing better than this on their wedding’s day. Too sad i will not hear the song on the wedding day as I’m moving to Bangkok this month.

    Leon said:

You won’t be there? Oh no! Maybe we’ll video tape it and send it to you. I wish you were there. You’re going to Bangkok? How come? Yes I must sing better, please pray for us that it will be a great day and that God’s presence will be with us

  18. Kessey says:

yeah, will be in Bangkok to work with Fire Bible and will be there for a couple of years. Do let me know if you happen to pass by Bangkok. Too sad that can’t come for Sothy wedding as i will be in training. Just send me the tape or CD is fine too. Really curious to see you sing on stage. Sothy said, you’re a great singer.

    Leon said:

He’s too kind. I’m not that great a singer ahaha, everybody here seems to say I sound bad hahahaha. Joking. Oh well, We’ll try and see how. I’m sure there’ll be a way for us to share that wedding still with you. Have great fun there ok? God Bless

  19. ~doNNa^~ says:

any better recording for this song?

    Leon said:

Sorry this is the best at the moment. I’m in the process still of making a nice track. Please wait patiently ok?
