We woke up, did our devotions together in a simple manner hearing from our youth adviser and them moved on to have a wonderful breakfast prepared by our own chefs!

Hearers of the Word

Of course we still had our hearts set on hearing from God and the time of testimony was also very very inspiring. Still we all had to go with heavy hearts. We fellowshipped over lunch amidst loads of laughter when suddenly the Malaysian Tsunami Happened! The water tank for drinking fell creating an aftermath of plain fun! Hahaha. We just had to go off with a bang.

We quickly got on the bus but didn’t realise we forgot to take a group picture. So we rushed back down and snap! We finally can get on our way back. Many were drooling all the way back and it is too disgusting to post those pictures here hahaha. Here is the nice group picture though. I’m glad that despite all the delay that I decided to come for this camp. It would be my last here. I would have regretted had I never went! I love you guys!

So my group sat together after the big devotion to discuss what we learnt. Honestly, I have not felt so close to people for some time. I just poured out my heart and encouraged them to pour theirs also. I shared especially about how I have been observing God moving in this camp and challenged my fellas to open their hearts.

Little did I know that despite not having music and electricity that God would tremendously pour down His Holy Spirit in our day meeting. They were soaked. It was a sovereign move of God that kept them hungering for more and more and more. They stood and lifted their hands, tears streaming down. Many were also on their knees heads bowed down as little watermarks were left on the ground. Some just sat there unable to hold back the powerful touch of God even as they sang the song ‘Complete’. For a moment, it felt as if nothing really matters. Time stood still as everyone just personally was ministered to by God Himself.

Even when they were given the opportunity to leave…..less than a handful left. The rest were praying for each other. In a unity that words cannot describe. Many just sat there spending moments of silence before God.

When everything has come to a close, we were way past lunch time but nobody cared. The rest waited until everyone was ready to eat before they started.

But soon after lunch did the youth madness begin again. This time the old traditional ‘Roti’ happened all of a sudden and you can see the poor victim gasping for air. Boys and their silly self torture

Now comes the really exciting part as we were heading for our team building games. None of our eyes could be kept from the sight of these mismatched pair of socks. The story behind it was hillarious! It seems that the boys were given mismatched socks two years ago. They were to exchange the right ones back and none of them did! They just wore the mismatched socks! This goes to speak of how lazy boys are. Shame on us!

First of the activities was the obstacle course! We were briefed like soldiers then sent on our mission as a team. I was confident I would win as usual because of my talents (I can hear them booing me now) So off we went, over, under, around and jumping!

Pay attention! I’m going to make you all soldiers by the end of the day!

Many had to overcome their fears when they went through the course. They had to trust each other to make it through. Eventually no matter how hard it was. We made it only to be confronted with the ‘flying fox’. Some believed they saw the presence of liquid dripping down as they flew down the high tower at lightning speed. Ok not that fast but it was fast la. Some honestly wished they could do it again! But again this one built teamwork as they had to pull the line to ensure the person would land safely. They did a splendid job I may say.

We knew we were going pond rafting after that but we didn’t know we had to build our own rafts! So there were two enginering prototypes that went into production that day. We were keen to see who would succeed as the next Malaysian Proton raft engineer.

So it was row power versus man power to the finish line. We the conquerors lost again sadly

Though we were this time even more exhausted than ever. It didn’t stop us from wanting so much more from God that night.

And what a better way to end the day that with a little chicken soup for the soul! Hahaha

Broga Sunrise

Look at how beautiful nature is. We woke up to such a beautiful but freezingly cold morning just to see a beautiful sunrise through the horizon. The amazing part was we were here seeking for God. The camp theme was ‘Hungry??‘ and so we were challenged by both the morning devotion and first sermon on this theme.

Morning breakfast was nicely prepared by the youth themselves despite the kitchen being infested with flying ants. So we cooked elsewhere while clean up was done by some guys. These guys did everything without complaning. So as the result we had a wonderful breakfast. Baked Beans (farting enhancer) and Sausages.

Then we were hungering for spiritual nourishment

After breakfast, our grounds was now infested by a new group of people. Accordingly they were not supposed to be of trouble to us. That didn’t happen as the whole day we were distracted and irritated by the noise they created. We were worshipping and trying to listen to the sermon but they were constantly causing some sort of distraction.

To find out they were Christians later on got me fuming because I don’t understand how they could be so inconsiderate while we were worshipping. They were supposed to be camping off grounds but instead used our grounds. So out of brotherly love we just let them be.

We didn’t let them spoil our moods, after lunch we went out for another round of frisbee this time under the hot sun!! My team won!! Great teamwork!

We had some group games after that which looked like torture through this pictures but I guarantee no harm was caused during the filming process. I know it makes no sense to you what games we were playing because it made no sense to us as well. We just went beserk

But this was the most important part of the day!

Of course after a hearty meal, we soaked ourselves in God’s presence. God challenged us that despite the distractions, are we truly hungry enough? So we focused everything on Him difficult as it may be with all the surrounding noise.

This is my babee of which I am well pleased

Last Thursday, my biking day! I’m going to ride to Semenyih this time. It is apparent that it is a great day to ride! There is no sun up in the sky, it doesn’t look like it will rain anytime soon, then even better there is a slight cool breeze!!

So I got all geared up with my new gloves (some describe it as the Darth Vader gloves) and I’m all ready to take the road by storm. The bike has now warmed up. I get onto it with the little kids who live next door admiring….so cute. They wave goodbye and I wave back. What a smile that brought to my face!

Zoom I was almost instantly at church…..that’s how fast my bike is *grins*. No la…..I stopped by the gas station first so that I won’t like stop halfway without gas and humiliate myself.

We loaded up the bus then it was time to go! I trailed behind but it was like so slow!!! 60-70 km/h. Ahhhh!!! This is not what I expected for an adventure. So I couldn’t take it anymore. =for your information, I was not the only one complaining about the speed= I stopped at a KFC hehehehe and had my breakfast while they still traveled on. Then I caught up later just on time at the Semenyih interchange. Wooohoo. It was so fun trying to catch up……Hopefully this time no saman….

Then when we arrived, I realised I really like the place! I am here for my church youth camp and guess what! There is a huge football field! And so many more fun things. I can’t wait to tire myself out with loads of self torture.

Funny thing is, I think I really bring a blackout everywhere I go because it is apparent there is no electricity here since our arrival…..first Cambodia, now here. Oh well, I’m going to have fun outdoors. First on the itinerary….frisbee!!! Better still it is Frisbee in the RAIN!!

We tired ourselves out with games all day and night until I was exhausted. They were still bubbling with energy. I started to realise I am not that young anymore. My glorious days are over hahahaha.

Pastor, my bro and me with some of the youths sat down and reminisce on many of life’s memories and had such a great time. We laughed until our bellies almost burst. You won’t want to know what will come out he he. Then we bunked in our beds but there were no blankets to keep us from freezing. I woke up looking like a vibrating icicle. brrrrrrr. Reminds me of the glorious days when Subang Jaya would be that cold without the air-cond. Global warming is bad bad bad.
