What does the future hold?

My dear friends, these few days have been chaotic for me. Rushing here, Rushing there and in the end making it just on time to place my vote. Phew!!!

I stayed awake until 330am trying to see the results as much as I could but knocked out because I had important matters the next day. Wait a minute….its the same day….Sunday…

The results were very provocative to me personally. Some things I really wish didn’t happen happened. But I am happy that our country Malaysia is about to experience change.

What do you think the future holds? Please share your thoughts.

I personally think if the leaders learn from this lesson, Malaysia will have a bright future. Personally I believe there is a ray of hope because of these results and a clear message of the people’s feelings which should have been heard a long time ago (but fell on deaf ears before this).

I have positive feelings about this. I want this all to turn to something good. Am I being too optimistic?

But the biggest lesson I learnt is that I love this country so so much. What would I like to see in the future?

1. Freedom of Religion

2. Corrupt pratices put to an end

3. I wish to see the poor given the opportunity to make something of their lives instead of the rich just getting awfully richer

4. A just and true system (Law and Order)

5. Security for the people

Maybe you all would like to add to the list?

hey ya.. :)

i voted with a sense of expectancy of change.. what i probably didn’t realize was how big the change would be..

i’m not sure what to expect.. as people are after all just humans.. but am praying.. praying for Malaysia, like u leon, to be a safe place where ppl really live in harmony with each other.. rather than just muhibbah being chucked at us through textbooks and festive ads..

A free and just country would be ideal.. *grins*

nice place goin dear.. keep it up :) thanks for the link.. :)

apart from the ones you’ve mentioned, i would hope that one day the special benefits to a certain race would be scrapped off. I believe that we’re all living in the same country, therefore all citizens should have equal rights in everything, including education. We should not have racial differentiation in terms of benefiting for special priviledges.

Also, for freedom of religion, i would hope that one day (though it’s highly unlikely that it would happen anytime soon), there won’t be a law that whoever marries a Muslim must convert to a muslim. It’s not practiced in other countries, i wonder why is it here.

Do you think that change that happened would be good Tab? safe is good I would sure like that.

Siew Lee I’m not so looking worried about the equal right thing. I’m more worried we lose our basic human rights.

About the religion issue, I think we have no position to say anything. But I do wish that a human being would have the right to choose as is stated in our Constitution. But however, I do not see this possible in the near future.

I would like a change in how we preserve the enviroment though.
