WhiRL @ Singapore

Why this pic? Read on….you’ll see

This begins a new chapter of my life! (look out for About Me Chapter 2, coming soon)

This is actually a short update for everyone who knows me, and don’t know me too haha. I am now in singapore and will begin working here on tuesday. I will find out more about what I’m doing and brief you all later. I know. I know, I am here and I do know what I will be doing, but I would like to actually give a hands on description ok? In short it has to do with music hahhaha.

I arrived here yesterday driving my parents car with them comfortably snoozing all the way. 5 hours of driving is a killer. Thank God I had the GPS to accompany me waking me up with every ’speed camera in 300 meters’. I set my GPS to woodlands but my mom actually wanted us to go through the second link. There was quite a confusion because when we entered second link, the GPS brought us 40 km backwards from where we came.

There was a lot of grumbling from the three of us then. But all turned out well as we finally crossed the border without any problems even as my things practically filled the whole car!

When I got here I was rather nervous. Everything looked similar but different. I was heading to church and was constantly analyzing everything. To cut the story short, I was chasing a speeding taxi to reach my dwelling place here which would be temporary. My father was like ‘Wei here got a lot of speed trap Wei’. I was like ‘that fella go so fast how la, at least we got GPS to see speed trap’. Still he was driving very fast.

We got to the flat area and here is pics of the place:

The first place you see upon entering, the dining hall

This is the kitchen….very nice….maybe I should learn how to cook well to save money….

The most important place to most people….not me….but I assure you it is really clean and nice

The hall spacious but not used ahahahaha

This is my room but I’m just half packed…..so tired

The bottom line is I like this place besides the fact that the air-con doesn’t function, I think I have more than enough space to mark my territory hahaha.

I then drove to a pastor’s house where my parents will lodge in for the night. We then packed ourselves like sardines in the car as he dropped me off at the nearest MRT station. There I felt like a sardine squirming around. Can you believe it? I got stuck in a human jam! At times like this, I just wish I would have the guts to push my way through. I was sweating like a pig and all I just did was walk walk walk to meet up with a friend who would help me obtain an internet connection.

Instead I ended up shopping with them. For shopperholics, it is time for the grand sale here and therefore things are going up for bargain prices here. I had to really fight off all my urges to spend because I cannot afford to do so just yet….just yet…..hahahaha my only comfort….just yet.

In the end we couldn’t get the internet as they needed some document that my friend didn’t have. Sigh……Big Sigh!!! So I had to brave the sardine packed MRT to get back where I stay again. I got lost a little but got back safe and sound and began unpacking. When I switched on the computer. Surprise! There was someone who left their router unprotected! So the computer auto connected and soon I was bombarded with tonnes of MSN messages. So I spent the night trying to multitask. Not too long later….I collapsed on my new bed.

One more shoutout is to my parents! You are the best in the world. I would never want any others. You know what? All my life I have never, I want to emphasize NEVER ever thought that I would want someone else to be my parents or regretted the fact that I am your son. I love you all so much and thank You for the sacrifice you all are making for me. If anyone has the most to lose it is you all and yet you still give it all without complaining. Thank you. You all are the people I miss the most. I love you both more than words can describe!

Wa…quite hectic huh…considering it was your first day.. Well hopefully you’ll get use to the ‘human jam’ soon. The way you describe it sounds as though you were suffering a lot with that. Haha..Majority of them there use the MRT as their means of transport yea?

Your new place looks quite cosy and spacious..And you’re expected to maintain the whole place? Do all the house work and cleaning? Aiyo.. poor you..Oh but on second thoughts you’ve been maintaining your house back here hor…So that won’t be too much trouble for you..

Guess if i have to maintain that, i’ll die..Haha…I would rather stay in a small room then to have to do house work…Haha…

I don’t think you can survive la. Your current room is HUGE! The satisfaction of cleaning your own place is actually really nice. I think I will do it with my housemate…

your new place really looks nice and comfortable ler…
i think spore’s public transport system is not bad lor (yea cos small country haha).. except for the crowd during peak hours..
ehh swim across the sea and come visit me lah hahhahha!

Leon said:

The system is really good just the crowds is really not my cup of tea…..from a motorbike to being sandwiched is quite a contrast in feeling. I can’t swim that well yet. I will work hard. When I get to that standard we will see each other ok??? Hehhehe

Nice place you got…… i had in mind a not so comfortable place….. Hehe, phobia of staying in the not so nice areas of Singapore. Your toilet is beautiful…. But not as beautiful as mine…

Leon said:

What is you all and toilets? The world is the toilet. I can do it anywhere. Poor things that you all cannot….hahaha
