Why oh Why????

Posted by: WhiRL   in Bikerz Adventures, Colors of Life

My baby lies beneath this red sheet…..so exciting

Why the Cagiva Mito?… some people ask. Here is an attempt to explain to my friends how I chose to give up my car, sell it off, and subject myself to the torture of a two wheeler that is open to air, wind, rain and even DEATH. Hahahaha

Reason one, I’m tired of driving:

I chose to get a car for two reasons. My future family (which I foresee will happen due to me being a desperate case) and my lovely keyboard that weighs a tonne and is impossible to being anywhere on a bike. BUT, I am no longer attempting to work this family thing out for there is a huge amount of healing that hasn’t took place in my heart and I no longer have to bring ‘my wife’ as some say around anymore. Err, that doesn’t sound too good. Let’s just say I don’t travel around with her anymore. Err, that also sounds bad. Haha. I just don’t need to travel with my keyboard around places so when these two reasons were not present anymore, why drive? Why have a car? Bikes are exciting.

Reason two, I love bikes, admire cars:

Doesn’t that answer it all, why give up something you love for something you admire? I could admire something but I will lose interest in it after a while. Something I love will never get me bored. Bikes are more lovable.

Reason three, petrol prices and tolls are reaching a murderous rate:

I have given up my well paying jobs to serve the people I love, and I cannot afford the monthly expenditures of maintenance of a car. It’s ridiculous to travel. Bikes are cheaper in consumption.

Reason four, I fall asleep when driving:

I have many infamous stories of falling asleep behind the wheel, some almost leading to deaths. Some know about this when I suddenly burst into my out of tune singing that keeps me up. But all in all, nothing keeps me awake on the wheel. Bikes are Thrilling!

Is that enough? I have many more reasons, for me choosing to give up my nice comfortable car (some call it) for a uncomfortably hot bike (some also say). But it’s over, I have chosen the BIKE!

Now why the Cagiva Mito?

Reason one, IT IS BLAZING HOT AND RED! :

Noticed how Ferrari’s are coloured in red too? It’s like the hottest colour around. I had hunt around for bike, as you know the super bike category is ridiculously priced at the moment. Looking at all the designs you will notice that this bike still stands out. Something about the Italians and motor designs that drive people wild. This Bike is the Hottest!

Reason two, Its FAST! :

For many people, an engine is an engine. They hardly know what it’s made of. Let me tell you, the engine is a very vital part of choosing a vehicle. You must consider this for bikes. Is it a two stroke or four stroke engines? To summarise it into a nutshell, two strokes churn out more horsepower than a four stroke engine. That makes it much more powerful than a four stroke engine by more than twice. So a 125cc two stroke engine will cough out more power than a 250cc four stroke engine. You must realise I’m generalising this. There are exceptions because of the advancement of technology, but by principle two strokes are faster. The downside is that two strokes generally are more polluting especially if not maintained properly and are more complicated to maintain. This Bike is Two Stroke and coughs out 33HP! A 250cc four stroke generally goes at a max of 170-180km/h. The Cagiva which is a 125cc 2 stroke can reach 210km/h if simply modified and even more faster if modified well. It was the most interesting process for me bringing my bike from the 140km/h factory speed to 180km/h now. Both are the same price…what will you choose?

Spare parts and service is another issue. I was toiling between a Naza 650cc or this one. May I tell you that Naza is horrible at servicing its customers. Nobody even entertained me when I wanted to purchase a bike at the factory. Worse still their servicing is slow. Spare parts were the same price both VERY EXPENSIVE. But the people at Momos were way more friendlier to me. The Cagiva is made in Italy the Naza in Korea. This Bike is Italian just like Ferrari!

Reason Three, It is just more fun :

A two stroke has more details into it for the hobbyist. I wanted a hobby not just a vehicle. It has been so fun learning about engines, bikes and all the stuff from people. This Bike Is Intriguing.

Reason Four, The community of Bikers:

I met some of the people through an online forum. And they accepted me in just like that. Just because I identified with them (how I wish that Christians would accept sinners who accept Christ just like that). They helped me with the bike without holding back. Just like it so much more because it’s about people too. This Bike is like Family.

The Bottom Line! I look cool on a cool bike!! Hahahaha

I think I have written quite a lot and probably too much hahahha. I hope this gives reason to those who are thinking of getting a bike to think through before buying, and also for those who ask to know that I chose very carefully. But getting the bike has been one of the best decision I have made in my life.

Hmm… I do feel sleepy when I drive but I’ll make sure myself not falling asleep especially driving during peak hours. Remembered once at night I was very sleepy and I fell asleep with my eyes opened! Thank God it was just for a while and I shook my head and found my car wasn’t going straight.
But… it doesn’t mean I want a bike. Haha.. I’m not licenced to ride a bike too. Err… 210km/h? Could you ride slower?

Me too. I drove all the way to college but I didn’t realise. Somemore I was not supposed to be there. I was supposed to be at the dentist. Imagine that.

means like everytime the shot is not good you have to round and round again? hahahah… if i’m there when aunty nancy were taking the shots, i think i would be laughing my head off cos i think the process of getting the perfect shot is funny… i duno why i keep imagining you going round and round, and aunty nancy will try to capture as you pass but either can’t get a good shot, or blurred cos u went too fast. but well, the shot you put up was not bad.. haha good job aunty nancy. good job camera. *pat pat the bike* good job, bike.
